Click the "New Project" button on your dashboard to open the project creation wizard. It is three quick steps: pick which channel the video belongs to, choose how much to direct (Quick mode for a one-button auto-run, or Director mode to step through every stage), and find a template to start from. If you are working inside a single channel the channel step is skipped, so it becomes two steps. Once the project is created it drops straight into the pipeline, starting at Ideation.

Every VidFlow project moves through five sequential pipeline stages: Ideation, Script, Visual Bible, Voiceover, and Production. Each stage builds on the output of the previous one, so you always have full context as your video comes together. You can navigate between stages using the stage indicators at the top of the project editor, and the system will prompt you before advancing so you never lose work accidentally.

Templates are pre-configured project blueprints that set sensible defaults for a specific video style and format combination. When you start a new project, you can pick a template to pre-fill the style, format, and suggested structure, saving you several setup steps. You can always customise the template settings before creating the project, and your changes are only applied to that single project — the original template is never modified.

A project is either long-form (16:9, horizontal) or short-form (9:16, vertical for Shorts) — that is the content format, and it sets your default aspect ratio and recommended script length. Specific shapes like tutorials, explainers, documentaries, and podcasts are templates you pick at the start of the wizard; they pre-fill a structure and style on top of one of the two formats.

Credits are the in-app currency used to pay for AI-powered operations such as script generation, image rendering, voiceover synthesis, and the final video render. Every account starts with 350 free credits, and you can top up at any time by purchasing a credit pack from the Credits page. Credits never expire and are shared across all your projects on the account.

A rendered second of finished video runs about 2 credits, so a whole project usually lands in the hundreds — a default 7-minute long-form run is estimated near 840 credits, and roughly 104 credits of fixed overhead are spent before a single shot renders. Individual operations are smaller: generating a full script costs about 8 credits server-side, a batch of title ideas is 5 credits, a single hook is 1 credit, and a shot image is about 6 credits. The expensive parts are the voiceover take (90 credits) and per-shot video clips (roughly 28–110 credits each), which is why video work dominates the total. You always see the projected cost before you confirm.

Go to Settings → Credits and choose from the available credit packs. Packs range from a small top-up bundle to a large bulk pack with a per-credit discount. Payment is processed securely through Stripe or via supported cryptocurrency, and credits appear in your account balance immediately after a successful transaction. A receipt is emailed to your registered address and saved in Settings → Transactions.

If your credit balance reaches zero, AI-powered operations will be paused and you will see a prompt to purchase more credits before continuing. You will not lose any work — the project and all completed stages are saved automatically. Manual editing functions that do not consume credits (such as editing script text you have already generated) remain available regardless of your balance.

In the Script stage, VidFlow uses your selected title and Ideation output as the prompt context for a large language model that writes a full production-ready script. The script is structured into chapters that scale with your target length. You can regenerate any individual chapter without re-running the whole script, write or rewrite a hook, and edit the text by hand before moving on.

The style picker surfaces eight distinct video styles to match the visual tone of your content: Stickman, 2D Editorial, 2D Cartoon, Anime, Disney/Pixar, Realism, Dark History, and AI Reconstruction. Each style influences the Visual Bible palette and the type of shot imagery generated. You can preview a sample of every style in the picker before committing.

The Voiceover stage synthesises professional-quality narration from your finalised script using neural text-to-speech. Browse the voice library — every voice has a sample you can play before selecting — or use one of your own: clone a voice from a short sample you upload or record in the browser, or describe a voice in words and have one designed. You can keep up to 5 custom voices per account, and cloning requires your explicit consent to use the sample. Generated audio is stored in your project as MP3 and can be downloaded at any time.

The Visual Bible is a style guide document generated specifically for your project that locks in the colour palette, typography, iconography rules, and character design principles your video will follow. It is built automatically from your chosen video style and the tone detected in your script, but you can edit any element before the Production stage uses it. Think of it as the creative brief that keeps your entire video visually consistent from first frame to last.

The Production stage plans the shots for your video, then generates each shot — an image first, then a video clip from that image where the shot calls for motion. Once the shots are ready, VidFlow renders the final MP4 server-side, stitching the clips to your voiceover and applying transitions, Ken Burns motion, and captions automatically. You are reviewing and regenerating individual shots rather than hand-editing a timeline.

Go to Settings → Security and use "Change password." You will enter your current password once for verification, then type and confirm your new password. Passwords must be at least eight characters, must not be a commonly used password, and cannot contain your email name. You can also turn on two-factor authentication and sign out of every device from the same page.

Navigate to Settings → Advanced and click "Export My Data." VidFlow generates a single JSON file on the spot and downloads it straight to your device — there is no background job or emailed link. The file includes your account profile, your credit balance, metadata for each of your projects, and your most recent transactions (up to 500).

Account deletion is available under Settings → Advanced. You must type the confirmation phrase and enter your password before deletion proceeds. This action is permanent and irreversible — all projects, generated assets, and remaining credits will be deleted immediately. If you have an active paid subscription, it is cancelled automatically at the same time and you will not be charged again.

From the Channels page, click "Add Channel" and follow the OAuth flow to authorise VidFlow to connect with your YouTube account. You can link multiple channels and switch between them at any time from the channel selector. Once connected, your channel's subscriber count, branding colours, and upload history are used to personalise AI suggestions in your projects.

Channel assets are the AI-generated branding tied to a specific channel — your channel name, description, SEO keywords, logo, banner, and social images. VidFlow generates these for you rather than asking you to upload them, and you can push the ones you keep to your connected YouTube channel. A channel can also pin a default voice that pre-selects in every new project created under it, which you can override per project.
