Pipeline Stage 1: Ideation
Discover how the Ideation stage turns a rough topic into a set of title candidates and picks the strongest one to build your video around.
What Happens in Ideation?
Ideation is where a rough topic becomes a concrete, ranked starting point. You begin with a topic or a one-line idea, and the AI generates a batch of title candidates for the video. VidFlow auto-selects the strongest title so a Quick run can keep moving, but you can review the alternatives and switch to a different one before the Script stage begins.
Generating Title Candidates
The Ideation stage generates five distinct title candidates, each with a short note on why it might work. The top candidate is selected automatically, and it becomes the anchor the Script stage writes against. Generating a fresh batch of titles costs 5 credits; if you only want to swap a single candidate, regenerating one title costs 1 credit.
Choosing Your Title
You are not locked into the auto-selected title. Browse the candidates, read the reasoning attached to each, and select whichever one best fits your channel tone. The title you settle on is passed straight into the Script stage, so it shapes the structure and voice of everything the scriptwriter produces.
Moving On to Script
When you are happy with the selected title, continue to the Script stage. Your hook — the first 15 to 30 seconds that decide whether viewers stay — is written there, not in Ideation, so you can craft it against the actual script. You can return to Ideation later to pick a different title, just be aware that changing it may affect work in the stages that follow.
